I have been practising yoga for nearly 20 years and during this time I have worked within a number of traditions, including: Iyengar, Ashtanga and Yin. I bring knowledge of all these systems to my classes, working both with detailed and safe exploration of individual poses and techniques as well as carefully crafted flowing sequences.
My primary teaching qualification is with the British Wheel of Yoga. This is a three-year programme of study covering all aspects of yoga. The British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) is the National Governing Body for yoga in the UK, and has been recognised as such by the Central Council for Physical Recreation (CCPR) and Sport England since 1993. The BWY prides itself on the high standard of its work as the largest yoga membership organisation in the UK and a premier yoga education provider.
In addition, I have extensive training with Birthlight ( I am holder of an Advance Perinatal Yoga qualification) and am registered with the Federation of Ante Natal Educators.
I also pursue my own training and development working with many teachers both locally and nationally.
In 2013 I trained with the University of Bangor to deliver the eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programme and I integrate these research-backed approaches into my teaching, ensuring a rounded approach to the development of both physical and mental health.
